Error Whisperer is operated by Shore Pine Landscape Service LLC, doing business as Error Whisperer. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect: the code/errors you paste, basic request info (IP address for rate limiting), your email address if you log in, your plan, credit balance and purchase records, a usage log of each request (type of request, AI model used, and whether you said the fix worked; not the pasted text itself), and payment details handled by Stripe (we never see your card number).
Service providers: Supabase (login and account data), Stripe (payments and subscriptions), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and our AI provider (generating answers).
How we use it: pastes are sent to our AI provider solely to generate your answer. Detected secrets are removed first. We don't sell your data.
AI provider (Google Gemini): answers are generated with Google's Gemini API. Free explanations may use Gemini's free tier, where Google may process and use prompts (your pasted error and code, after secret removal) to improve its products under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service, and human reviewers may see them. Don't paste anything confidential.
Newsletter: if you sign up, we store your email address, where on the site you signed up, and the signup date, and use them only to send the Error Whisperer Weekly newsletter. Every issue has an unsubscribe option, or email errorwhisperer@mail.grokbot.com and we'll remove you. We never sell or share your email.
Retention: we don't save your pasted text to our database; it's only passed to the AI provider to generate your answer. Hosting request logs are kept for a limited time, and we aim to keep them no longer than 30 days. Account, usage and purchase records are kept while your account exists.
Cookies: functional cookies only: one tracks the free daily explanation for visitors who aren't logged in, and login cookies keep you signed in. No ad tracking.
Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, cookie-free visit counts. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
Your choices: email us to ask for a copy of your account data or to delete your account.
